Enthusiasm. You can’t do much without it.
Paul advised, “Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer” (Romans 12:11-12).
Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.”
Enthusiasm is not about positive thinking, sneaky psychological tricks, or becoming an optimist. The word “enthusiasm” comes from the Greek words en theos, which means “in God.” So enthusiasm is found in God.
When you are in God, you will be enthusiastic about life, recovery, marriage, work, and church.
Recovery Step: Pray this prayer today – “Dear God, I want to live every day in you. I want to find my joy in you. I find my hope in you.”
