Jorge joins Season 8 for the first time to talk about Healthy Sexuality. The conversation (that involved a lot of editing, lol) is designed to help men understand what healthy sexuality looks like and steps needed to help move from unhealthy sexuality into healthy sexuality. Because of our addiction, we have taken sexuality and distorted it, and we need to rewire our brain to see how healthy sexuality can be restored. For years we used sexuality as a coping mechanism to deal with uncomfortable emotions. Healthy sexuality is not just the absence of negative consequences, but more focused on a Christ-centered outcome. We reference resources that are excellent books like:

Castimonia Purity Podcast Episode 103 – Mark Denison Interview

In Episode 3 Chris interviews Mark Denison to talk about his new book, Recovery Rules. In his book Mark gives 100 crazy awesome rules to a healthy recovery. We touch on several of the rules, talk about the difference between sobriety and recovery, and close with what I call your “go-to story.” Mark shocked me with his story as I was expecting something funny, but it instead really touched my heart.

Mark and Beth Denison launched There’s Still Hope in 2017. The ministry offers nine weekly Freedom Groups for men, as well as groups for women and couples. Mark and Beth also provide personal coaching. Mark leads men through his acclaimed 90-Day Recovery Program.

Dr. Denison was a senior pastor for 31 years and holds a Master’s Degree with a focus on Addiction Recovery. He is a certified PSAP and a member of the AACC. Mark has authored ten books on recovery, including his latest release, Recovery Rules.

Join Chris as he interviews Thomas Berry from Redemptive Living. Thomas was the speaker at the Castimonia Retreat in November of 2023 and he gives a recap from his sessions. Thomas also shares some observations he had from the retreat and we unpack some of the differences between sobriety and recovery.

After 7 years of hosting the Purity Podcast Doug has passed the baton to Chris. Today, Chris introduces himself and welcomes you into his journey of recovery as well as your own. You may find yourself in a very dark place right now, but you are not alone, and there is hope. He challenges the listener to consider what kind of story he wants to tell. Castimonia Purity Podcast Episode 100: Time for a new Chapter – Remember the light!

Listen in as Chris, Jorge and Doug talk about the illustration of darkness vs. Light.  We walk through struggles of so many in our lives, and it is so helpful to remember the light and joy that is in us.  That gives us wisdom and strength to continue the journey.
