A long time ago, I wrote a book that quietly became one of the most meaningful projects of my career.
Removing Your Shame Label wasn’t written to impress or to sell. It was written to help men and women understand something most of us never learned growing up:
shame isn’t who you are—it’s what happens when pain goes unnamed.
The book explores how shame forms around hurtful and destructive behaviors, and how that shame keeps people stuck long after the behavior itself has stopped.
When my friend and colleague Steve O’Connor read it, he didn’t just appreciate it—he reached out and asked me to come on his podcast to talk about it. I’ll be honest: that surprised me. I’ve never heavily promoted this book. But my wife has always said it’s the best thing I’ve written—and after this conversation, I finally understand why.
In the podcast, we dive into the emotional core of the book, including topics like:
- The Shame of Uncontrolled Pride
- The Shame of Excessive Worry
- The Shame of Self-Loathing
- The Shame of a Hardened Heart
- The Shame of Contaminated Thoughts
—and more
This isn’t a surface-level discussion. It’s an honest conversation about how shame quietly shapes our decisions, relationships, and sense of self—and what it actually takes to loosen its grip.
I invite you to listen to the podcast and get a true feel for the heart of the book.
After listening, I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts. You can reach me at innerchildmodel@gmail.com with feedback—or with therapeutic questions I may be able to help answer.
