One More – VIDEO

Hacksaw Ridge was probably one of the best war movies made and had an amazing recovery theme.  I thought this would be a good video to post for Memorial Day.  Below is a short summary of the overall movie from Google:

The true story of Pfc. Desmond T. Doss (Andrew Garfield), who won the Congressional Medal of Honor despite refusing to bear arms during WWII on religious grounds. Doss was drafted and ostracized by fellow soldiers for his pacifist stance but went on to earn respect and adoration for his bravery, selflessness and compassion after he risked his life — without firing a shot — to save 75 men in the Battle of Okinawa.

In this film we see Desmond Doss go back again and again to help those in need, regardless of difficulty and continuous attacks by the enemy.  The enemy does not want us to help others.  This is a great representation of what we should do in recovery with those in need of our help and experience.  We need to be willing to serve the Lord by helping others over and over again regardless of the attacks the enemy brings.  Recovery isn’t just about our own recovery, it’s about giving back and helping others.  Without this second part, we will continue to fail over and over again. I hope you enjoy watching this video as much as I enjoyed creating it.  As always, take what you like and leave the rest.
