| As I worked through the first seven steps of recovery, improvement of self was my focus. Telling my story. identifying my shortcomings, asking God to remove my shortcomings. When I reached step eight, my focus turned outward as I made a list of all those I had harmed and became willing to make amends.
Step eight is a significant shift in recovery, a change from inward to outward focus. In Scripture, the number seven signifies completion, the end of something. Eight means a new beginning…resurrection and regeneration. In step eight, God allowed me to begin making amends for my lifetime of separation from Him and the impact I had on those I loved the most.
This week, our own Cedric brings an incredible message focusing on step eight and the new beginning it brings.
